What Is ROAR 2 Success?

ROAR stands for Recognizing Opportunities Achieving Results. The program is focused on providing advocacy and customized support to first-year students. We work to build skills, connect students with resources, and provide advocacy.

Currently, any prospective first-year student that confirms their attendance at Buffalo State University, and is not enrolled in any other support program on campus, is eligible to participate.

Students who are accepted to Buffalo State through Honors, EOP, or as an International Student are currently ineligible for services through Roar 2 Success.

What Is a Success Navigator?

Each student enrolled in the Roar 2 Success program is assigned to a Success Navigator. Your Navigator is here to offer guidance, advocacy, and support with a focus on developing your student success here at Buffalo State.

Meeting With Your Success Navigator

Your assigned success navigator is based on the UNC 101 section you are registered for in the fall. If you are not in a UNC 101 section but are in Roar 2 Success, please email us immediately. In general, students should commit to meeting with their Success Navigator at least once per month. If you are having additional difficulties, we recommend a bi-weekly meeting.

Connect with a Success Navigator

  • Attend your UNC 101 class and connect with your Navigator during class or specified office hours.
  • Schedule a 1:1 meeting with your Success Navigator using the Bengal Success Portal.
  • Visit us during our weekly Walk-In Hours (every Wed 1:00-3:00 p.m.) in Bengal Hall 118
