
What Is ROAR 2 Success?
R.O.A.R. stands for Recognizing Opportunities and Achieving Results. Our admissions-based program offers customized student supports to first-year and second-year students. In the first year we focus on the following areas with our students; defining their ‘college why’, building professional skills, building awareness of campus/community resources, development of campus pride, and collegiate community.
Eligible students are accepted to Buffalo State University through Roar 2 Success as outlined in their admissions letter. Admissions to Roar 2 Success can be found in student applicant portal. Space is limited, delaying or failing to accept your admission could result in not being accepted to the university.
*If accepted to Buffalo State University through Roar 2 Success, participation in the program is mandatory
Participation in the Bengal Bound Summer Bridge program is mandatory from August 13, 2025 - August 20, 2025

When is the latest I can accept my admission for Buffalo State University through Roar 2 Success? :
R2S typically has a program capacity of 250 first-year students. Space is limited, so we encourage you to accept your admission to Buffalo State University as soon as possible to secure your spot!
Student Expectations
Success requires partnership. Roar 2 Success works hard to support its students, if you are considering Buffalo State University and have been accepted through the Roar 2 Success program, here is a glimpse of what is required to maintain active program participant status. Active participation is required to maintain eligibility to monetary programmatic supports.
Summer (first year only)
- Complete your enrollment checklist (link also needs to be corrected)
- Register/Attend the Mandatory Bengal Bound Summer Bridge Program
- Schedule/Attend your virtual summer 1:1 check in with a Success Navigator
- Schedule/Attend your virtual financial aid meeting
Fall
- Schedule/Attend your monthly Success Navigator coaching session
- Regularly attend and pass all courses (including R2S community courses)
- Attend your weekly study hour
- Meet with your academic mentor bi weekly
- Attend the fall midterm check in
- Complete your FASFA/TAP for next academic year
- Register for the spring semester
J-term (winter break)
- Attend the winter break virtual workshop series
- Schedule/Attend your monthly Success Navigator coaching session
Spring
- Schedule/Attend your monthly Success Navigator coaching session
- Regularly attend and pass all courses (including R2S community courses)
- Attend your weekly study hour
- Meet with your academic mentor bi weekly
- Attend the spring midterm check in
- Register for the fall semester
*Completing the above tasks during the specified time frame ensures students remain eligible for their Textbook Scholarship
