How do I apply? :
Roar 2 Success is an admissions-based program, meaning that at the point of deposit if you match our current student eligibility, you will automatically receive an invitation to opt in to the program within your applicant portal. If you have not been invited into the program at the point of admission and deposit, but feel you would benefit from the programs supports, please email us roar2success@buffalostate.edu
Student Expectations
Our professionals work hard to support their first-year students. All we ask in return is partnership. If you are considering Buffalo State and have been invited to opt in to the Roar 2 Success program, here is a glimpse of what we ask students to do in order to maximize their time with us.
Student Expectations: Summer
- Register/Attend Summer Orientation
- Complete your FASFA/TAP applications
- Register/Attend the Bengal Bound Summer Bridge Program (complete the permission slip if you need to ride the NYC bus)
- Schedule and complete your financial aid 1:1
- Schedule and complete your summer 1:1 virtual check in (hyper link success navigator meeting document)
Student Expectations: Fall
- Meet with your Assigned Success Navigator monthly (bi-weekly if you are having trouble)
- Successfully complete UNC 100
- Access academic supports, attend study halls/ educational programming
Student Expectations: J-Term
- Schedule and complete your summer 1:1 virtual check
Student Expectations: Spring
- Meet with your Assigned Success Navigator monthly (bi-weekly if you are having trouble)
- Successfully complete one of the suggested UNC courses (UNC 150, UNC 201, UNC 215)
- Access academic supports, attend study halls/ educational programming
*Completing the above tasks during the specified time frame ensures our students remain eligible for their book vouchers

When is the latest I can opt in? :
Our program currently caps at 300 students (once we hit capacity we close entry for the current academic year). However, if we do not reach capacity we still have a decision day deadline of August 1st to ensure that incoming students are able to complete the required summer steps prior to the start of the fall semester.
